Trying to check your NSP scholarship status and not sure what “Pending at Institute” or “Forwarded to Department” actually means? This free status helper explains what each NSP application stage means, tells you what to do next, and takes you straight to the correct official status page for your academic year — no login required to use this tool.
NSP Scholarship Status Checker Helper
This is an independent explainer tool. It is not connected to the NSP database and does not check your live status — it only helps you understand what the status message on the official portal means.
How to check your NSP scholarship status correctly
First, pick the correct login system above based on your academic year, since NSP moved to a new application system starting 2024-25 and older applications still use a separate payment login. Next, log in on the official portal with your OTR credentials and copy the exact status text shown on your dashboard. Finally, select that status in the dropdown above to see what it means and what to do next.
If your status hasn’t changed in several weeks, contact your institute’s scholarship nodal officer first, since most delays happen at the institute or department verification stage rather than with NSP itself. For payment-specific issues, see our NSP scholarship status and payment guide.
NSP status checker — frequently asked questions
Why does my NSP status still show “Pending at Institute”?
This means your institute has not yet completed verification. Consequently, you should contact your college or school’s scholarship nodal officer directly, since NSP itself cannot speed up institute-level checks.
How long does NSP scholarship verification take?
It varies widely by scheme and state, ranging from a few weeks to a few months. Institute verification is usually fastest, while department-level approval and PFMS payment processing tend to take the longest.
My NSP scholarship status shows no record found. What should I do?
Double-check that you are using the correct login system for your academic year. If the problem continues, it’s possible your original application was not submitted successfully — contact the NSP helpdesk or your institute to confirm.
My scholarship was approved but I haven’t received the payment. Why?
This is usually because your bank account is not Aadhaar-seeded, or your payment is still being processed through PFMS. As a result, check your account’s Aadhaar seeding status with your bank, and use PFMS “Know Your Payment” to track the transaction.
